About Department
The Department of Chemistry was started in 1984 at Undergraduate Level with the aim to provide comprehensive courses and laboratory experiences to build strong theoretical and practical knowledge in chemistry among rural and hilly students. The Post Graduate programme were started M.Sc. Organic Chemistry in 2008 and M.Sc. Analytical Chemistry in 2014 to equip students with the skills necessary for diverse career paths in academia, industry, research organizations, or government agencies.. The department believes in inculcating the skills among the rural students such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and laboratory skills in students, preparing them for professional careers or advanced studies.. The participative learning of the students is a priority to aware them about the cross cutting issues different fields of chemistry. The department has started Research Centre in 2022 to Promote Research and Innovation and Contribute to Scientific Knowledge.
