PDEA's Waghire College of Arts, Commerce and Science, is a well-known academic educational institute. The college recognizes the need to encourage and support research activities to add to existing knowledge and provide novel and innovative insights on particular subjects. The college motivates its teaching faculties and students of undergraduate and post-graduates to undertake research projects.

The Academic Research Committee of the college looks after the research activities and its promotion. The main objectives of Academic Research Committee are as follows:
→ To promote the teachers to undertake the research projects and aware them about various funding agencies for the major /minor research projects (such as UGC, CSIR, DST, ICSSR, ASPIRE)
→ To inculcate the research attitude among the UG and PG students
→To motivate the students to participate in the Avishkar innovative research competition.
In addition to the research activities at the departmental level, the college has newly setup a research center in English, affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. The college has planned to introduce Research Centers in the subject of COMMERCE and CHEMISTRY. The Research Centers provide an excellent platform for qualitative and collaborative research.
