National Cadet Corps
The National Cadet Corps (NCC) is the Indian military cadet corps with its head Quarters at New Delhi. It was established in India during the year 1948 and since then, it remains open on voluntary basis for both college and school students of the country. Air Force, Army and Indian Navy are three groups which are involved in grooming of the country's youth into patriotic, responsible and well-disciplined citizens. NCC is a voluntary organization which is open to school, college and university students all over India. The officers and cadets have no liability for active military service once they complete their course but are given preference over normal candidates during selections based on the achievements in the corps.

Aims of NCC
- To develop character, commandership, discipline, secular outlook, spirit of adventure and the ideals selfless service amongst the youth of the country.
- To create a human resource of organized, trained and motivated youth, to provide leadership in walks of life and always available for the service of the nation.
- To provide a suitable environment to motivate the youth to take up a career in the armed forces.
Dear Cadets, willing students, parents and stakeholders,
We welcome you to National Cadet Corps of P.D.E.A.'s Waghire College of Arts, Commerce & Science, Saswad, Purandar, Pune. National Cadet Corps started it's glorious journey in our college with a 02 Maharashtra Battalion Girls Division (Army) in 1978 with 48 Girl cadets enrolled in the very first year. Later in 1980, 36 Maharashtra Battalion (Army) (Enrolled - 46 cadets) and in 1991, 03 Maharashtra Naval Unit (Enrolled 44 cadets) were also introduced.
The NCC aims at developing character, comradeship, discipline, a secular outlook, the spirit of adventure and ideals of selfless service amongst young citizens. Further, it aims at creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose. Needless to say, the NCC also provides an environment conducive to motivating young Indians to join the armed forces.
All the three kinds of National Cadet Corps from our college namely 02 Maharashtra Battalion Girls Division (Army), 36 Maharashtra Battalion (Army) and 03 Maharashtra Naval Unit NCC have Golden History of Success at National Level competitions. Congratulations to all of our cadets who have made us proud by achieving splendid success in various competitions, competitive examinations and serving in Indian Armed forces.
For any NCC cadet getting selected in Indian Armed forces is a huge passionate dream. Through their own hard work, guidance from Principal, ANO's, PI staff, so far more than 200 cadets have served and or are serving in Indian armed forces. In the year 2020, 04 cadets got success in Army recruitment.
College is committed for quality NCC education and for helping students to prepare themselves to achieve their dream in joining Indian armed forces as well as other Government services.
During 03 years of NCC training, cadets take tremendous efforts in getting selected for Republic Day Parade. This is another biggest dream fir a cadet during his NCC training. We are proud to mention that so far 32 cadets from 02 MAH BN Army Girls, 08 cadets from 36 MAH BN and 34 cadets from 03 Mah Naval unit have participated in Republic Day Parade held at Rajpath, New Delhi.
